I've been on a self-imposed shopping "diet" since summer started. I'm making an effort to be more creative with wearing what is already in my closet (this outfit is proof), and keeping myself occupied with other things (like cooking) so that I'm not shopping. It's not to say that I don't buy anything. But the things I do buy are items I believe will stand the test of time and allow me to wear for years to come.

Don't mind my damp hair and clothes in these photos; the wet snow was coming down fast and furious but Eleanor and I decided to test out her new lens and snap some outfit photos after shopping the Aritzia Warehouse Sale. The weather was also the perfect opportunity to wear this blush pink hooded coat from Zara's Spring '14 collection. In addition to powder blue, blush pink is another colour I'm smitten with for Spring (if it ever arrives). You can melt away now snow, please and thank you!

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you would have seen a photo of me wearing these new floral trousers from H&M last week. They really are the best $14.95 I've spent. This print and all of its incarnations (it's availabe in a blazer, top and blouse) are slowly cropping up in the fashion blogosphere and it's easy to see why. They're such an easy and affordable way to incorporate Spring's floral trend. I decided to add my own twist and style the flower pattern with leopard print. Do you think the print mixing worked? I have to admit that this is one of the most comfortable outfits I've styled for this blog. You really can't beat a pair of Converse kicks and worn-in boyfriend jeans; it's perfect weekend wear. Happy Friday!
