Although it's still too warm in Vancouver to wear a winter coat, when I saw that Pretty Shiny Sparkly's next Bloggers Do It Better challenge was wool/winter coats, I pulled one of mine out of storage and draped it over my shoulders. This styling method is perfect for when you need to keep warm but don't want to be sweating through your layers. If you need more reasons not to put your arms through your coat sleeves, read this article. Happy Friday!

Oxblood Peplum & Brocade Denim

{ Oxblood Peplum Top: H&M (similar) // Brocade Denim Skinny Jeans: Zara (similar) // Shoes: Aldo // Bag: Badgley Mischka // Sunglasses: Chanel // Jewelry: JewelMint Avalon Collar necklace & Black Swan cuff; Brandy Melville ring }

I put together this look for Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better challenge, which was to interpret Fall's "it" shade, oxblood. The colour is a deep burgundy/maroon colour with brown undertones and this peplum top matched the description perfectly. I paired it with my new favourite jeans that have a subtle brocade pattern and BAM, three trends in one outfit! Is peplum, oxblood and brocade too much together? Maybe, but I like it and that's what personal style is all about. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Bloggers Do It Better: Mint + Coral

{ Blazer: Zara // Romper: Urban Outfitters (old, similar) // Shoes: BCBGirls (worn here, here and here) // Bag: Louis Vuitton // Sunglasses: H&M // Watch: ToyWatch // Jewelry: MONIKALOVE bracelet by bfrend; random ring; DIY necklace }

When I saw that Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Challenge was mint and coral, I jumped at the opportunity to style an outfit with these two colours. I already have quite a few coral and mint items in my closet so it was just a matter of deciding what to pair with what. I ended up reaching for my favourite coral romper that I purchased last Spring and a pale sea green blazer. My nails were polished with a touch of mint and coral to play up the colour scheme a little more, and the result is a bright and cheerful outfit that reminds me of macarons (yum!).
