I never thought I'd be bold enough to wear head-to-toe neon, but this hot pink ASOS maxi dress ended up being the ideal piece to wear on the beach in Hawaii last month. It was so eye-catching that a woman came up to my family and I and insisted that she take family photos for us (she took over 20). If you're ever in need of someone to help take your picture, wearing a neon dress may do it without you even having to ask :)

Leopard Love

"Leopard pants."
"Leopard?! I don't want to be a leopard!"
"You won't become a leopard, it's just a leopard pattern. It's cute!"
"Oh, ok. I like leopard now."

Snow Day

The snow left almost as quickly as it came, because as I write this post the rain has completely washed away all the snow. During its short-lived stay, I discovered a new obsession that's not only practical for keeping warm but is also super cute: enter boot socks. They come in an array of colours and patterns, and are such a fun way to add an extra layer of interest to an outfit. I've already bought two pairs (this pair I'm wearing here and an over-the-knee pair) and see many more in my future. If you haven't worn them before, give them a try! They'd also make great stocking stuffers :)

Key Lime Pop

Monochromatic dressing is an easy way to put an outfit together that virtually guarantees each piece will go with each other. I stuck to different tones of blue for this look and added bright flashes of neon lemon/lime for some contrast. If the sun's not going to come out on the first day of Spring (no surprise here in Vancouver), then I'm going to wear a little ray of sunshine instead!

PS: today is also National Macaron Day so celebrate by indulging in some delicious macarons!

Citron

Be prepared to see a lot more of this neon yellow colour on the blog. I became obsessed with it ever since I purchased a chartreuse scarf (seen here) and it's such a smile-inducing, happy colour. I wore this citron blouse with my wax coated black skinnies and oxblood moto jacket for a transitional Winter-to-Spring look, and can't wait to pair it with some lighter, brighter colours once Spring has made its official debut.

I hope your  weekend is filled with sunshine, and to those who observe Daylight Savings Time, don't forget to spring your clocks forward by one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night!

Neon Splash

I absolutely loved neon in the '80s, and I mean LOVED. There are old photos of me showing how I completely embraced the neon trend, from my neon green leggings, neon pink slouch socks, multi-neon-coloured top, and neon orange scrunchie...all in one outfit. These days I'm taking a more restrained approach to the neon trend. I toned down this neon pink sweater from Zara (that I got on sale for $16. Score!) with neutral grey jeans and a black blazer. Adding the bright scarf provided the perfect punch of extra colour I was looking for.
