This leather jacket was the one piece I had my eye on ever since H&M revealed their New Icons collection. The genuine leather, motorcycle style and zipper details meld into the perfect combination of street style cool to create a look that H&M touts as "model-off-duty." I do admire the styles of models like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Miranda Kerr, so if there's a piece that will emulate their chic off duty style, I'll take it!

I put together this look for Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better challenge, which was to interpret Fall's "it" shade, oxblood. The colour is a deep burgundy/maroon colour with brown undertones and this peplum top matched the description perfectly. I paired it with my new favourite jeans that have a subtle brocade pattern and BAM, three trends in one outfit! Is peplum, oxblood and brocade too much together? Maybe, but I like it and that's what personal style is all about. Let me know what you think in the comments!

When my husband saw me in this heart sweater he said it was cute and that I looked like a Care Bear (in a good way). I'd say that's a fair description! Tenderheart is the Care Bear with a big red heart on his chest who "helps others to be the most caring they can be." If that's who I'm emulating when wearing this sweater, that's not such a bad thing to be. Spread the love :)

If you live in Vancouver then you would've experienced the crazy thunderstorm we had Tuesday evening. The wild rain and flashes of lightening were quite the spectacle to watch, and it gave the city a much needed cool-down. This gave me the opportunity to wear my fun, horse-print blouse and style it into a Summer look that will also transition well into Fall, which is coming up more quickly than I'd like to admit! I enjoy mixing prints (previously seen here and here), but if you're at all wary about pattern mixing, the easiest way to wear the trend is to get a piece of clothing that's already paired two prints together for you! This tank mixes florals and stripes in a foolproof way that's incredibly easy to wear. And who doesn't like effortless dressing, especially during the hot summer months? The temperature's been rising in Vancouver and I am ecstatic! It's so great to finally wear shorts without tights; this crochet pair from OASAP Fashion is one of my favourites. Now if only my legs weren't so pasty white...I'm hoping to remedy that in Vegas by catching lots of sun by the pool!

The Colour Purple

Purple is my favourite colour (pink comes a very close second) and these jeans are my latest acquisition to my collection of coloured pants (currently in my closet: red, cobalt blue, hot pink, pastel pink, and mint). I'm telling myself that I have enough colours but I've got my eyes on a pastel yellow pair. And a peach pair. After that I should be done. Really!

It's ironic that I titled this post "Side Tracked" back when these photos were first taken in the second week of January, because I actually got side tracked from publishing this post until now. It was meant to be a reference to the train tracks but it's become a literal title. Better late than never?

Fashion-wise, I've been living in these snakeskin-print jeans from the Gap and love the texture they give to an outfit. My JewelMint Black Swan Cuff is also a new favourite. I think all prints from the animal kingdom are slowly making their way into my closet.
