Fact: I have cherry blossom fever and it has now extended to my clothing in the form of this romper. The long sleeves and open back, along with the cherry blossom pattern, made this playsuit a must-have and it was perfect for my recent trip to Hawaii. I love April. Not only is it my birth month, but it's also when new life is being breathed into nature. Every Spring I look forward to seeing the cherry blossom trees burst into fluffy pink and white flower clouds delicately suspended in the air from its branches. It's a short-lived season, which is why I take every opportunity I can to photograph cherry blossoms in all their glory - just check my Instagram feed for proof!

The sneaker wedge trend has finally grown on me. It took about a year to really change my mind, but after I tried this pair on from Target I was hooked. They dress down an outfit just enough and are so incredibly comfortable, not to mention they're almost an exact duplicate of Isabel Marant's wedge sneakers for a lot less money! Are there any fashion trends you never thought you'd try and ended up loving?

I've recently discovered the versatility of vests. They're a fantastic layering piece and when it's tailored like this one, they pull together an outfit as perfectly as a blazer. A jacket without sleeves is genius for the summer months. Next on my radar to purchase: a denim vest and a sleeveless trench.

Celine Me Alone

I wore this outfit to the Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake concert last week, which was seriously amazing. And now that I'm in my early 30s, comfort is key when I'm at a show. I give props to the girls who wear sky high heels all night because I just can't do it anymore! My solution is to wear flats with stylish details, along with an outfit that's equally comfortable. Inspired by the 1920s style in The Great Gatsby, I've become enamored with the drop waist. They're great for those who are short-waisted like myself, and the extra bit of flounce in the lowered waistline evokes a playful sophistication. These are my top 10 favourite drop waist pieces. This leather jacket was the one piece I had my eye on ever since H&M revealed their New Icons collection. The genuine leather, motorcycle style and zipper details meld into the perfect combination of street style cool to create a look that H&M touts as "model-off-duty." I do admire the styles of models like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Miranda Kerr, so if there's a piece that will emulate their chic off duty style, I'll take it!

Double Denim

I honestly never thought I'd wear denim on denim (or the Canadian tuxedo, as it's also known), because the look never appealed to me. But fashion can be surprising and over time it can change your outlook on certain styles. I inadvertently threw together my heart-print chambray (last seen here) with my dark denim skinny jeans and voila, a double denim outfit that was cute and effortless for a day of running errands.

I shared a photo of this neon pink studded beauty of a dress on Instagram a few weeks ago. It was the best sale score I've gotten my hands on. Urban Outfitters had it marked down to only $7, and since I was in Portland, there was no tax on top! So of course it came home with me. Enjoy the last weekend in August everyone! I can't believe September is right around the corner.

Bloggers Do It Better: Mint + Coral

When I saw that Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Challenge was mint and coral, I jumped at the opportunity to style an outfit with these two colours. I already have quite a few coral and mint items in my closet so it was just a matter of deciding what to pair with what. I ended up reaching for my favourite coral romper that I purchased last Spring and a pale sea green blazer. My nails were polished with a touch of mint and coral to play up the colour scheme a little more, and the result is a bright and cheerful outfit that reminds me of macarons (yum!).

Mixing metals like gold, silver and rose gold together can make a pretty harmonious combination. I'm a fan of wearing all three metals together because I love each colour equally and sometimes just can't pick a favourite. Why wear one when you can wear them all?
