Don't mind my damp hair and clothes in these photos; the wet snow was coming down fast and furious but Eleanor and I decided to test out her new lens and snap some outfit photos after shopping the Aritzia Warehouse Sale. The weather was also the perfect opportunity to wear this blush pink hooded coat from Zara's Spring '14 collection. In addition to powder blue, blush pink is another colour I'm smitten with for Spring (if it ever arrives). You can melt away now snow, please and thank you!

Sometimes two is better than one. I layered up a couple of my favourite jackets for a look that's not only functional (more layers = more warmth) but is also stylish. I love the look these two jackets create when worn together, and was more than happy that the extra layers allowed me to wear this Wilfred Free dress in the middle of winter (see my looks with this dress in the summer and fall).

I'm borrowing the title of this week's IFB Project: Blazer of Glory, for this post because this H&M blazer is exactly that for me (evidence seen here, here and here). The faux leather sleeves and pockets combined with the wool shell fits my style perfectly. Add in a sweatshirt made of luxe silk with moto denim skinnies and you've got a classic, edgy chic look with my name written all over it.

Thanks to everyone who entered my Inner Fire infinity scarf giveaway! To find out if you won, click here.

PS: Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers!

Simplicity

{ Peplum Top: Babaton via Aritzia // Distressed Skinny Jeans: Gap // Shoes: BCBGirls (old) // Wallet: Vince Camuto // Sunglasses: House of Harlow 1960 // Necklace: H&M (very similar) }
I love the understated yet chic simplicity of jeans and a white tee. It's a look that always works, what's not to love?

Return of the Skort

{ Denim Jacket: H&M (worn here & here) // Blouse: J. Crew // Skort: Zara // Shoes: BCBGirls (old) // Wallet: Vince Camuto (similar, won from O My Heart!) // Sunglasses: Prada // Jewelry: Forever 21 earrings; DIY bracelet; BCBG Max Azria ring }
I haven't worn a skort (shorts + skirt) since middle school and honestly thought I'd never wear them again. I also felt the same way about leggings but now I can't imagine life without them. So here I am wearing a skort again, which I am completely in love with. Other things making me happy? The fact that my shirt serendipitously matches the magnolia tree in these photos and that today is my birthday! I have the day off and will be spending it with my husband. Not sure what he has planned but I'll find out soon!

Into the Blue

{ Dress: eShakti (c/o) // Boots: BCBGirls (old) // Bag: Chanel // Sunglasses: Prada // Bracelets: Forever 21 }
This past weekend was spent enjoying the glorious sunshine and clear blue skies. I donned this pretty new frock for Sunday brunch, and although it wasn't nearly warm enough for me to go without a jacket, I wanted to show off this dress from eShakti for the blog. If you remember this post, eShakti specializes in custom styles and sizes. I chose to customize this dress to an above-the-knee length and kept the pockets, which is a detail I love in a dress.

eShakti has kindly offered all of my readers 20% off with the special promo code STYLERHPSD, which is good until March 20, 2013. If you haven't tried customized clothing before, now's a great time to start!

Don't Rain on My Parade

Dress: c/o Sugarlips // Tights: Nordstrom // Booties: Zara (old) // Bag: BCBGirls // Sunglasses: Dior // Watch: Michael Kors // Jewelry: H&M ring; HRH Collection Original Ombre bracelet }
{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

Clearly I'm not willing to let go of wearing sleeveless pieces of clothing even when it's pouring buckets outside. I promise to wear more cozy, Fall looks on the blog soon but for now, I'm going to hold off on the layers just a little longer. Or move to Southern California. Who's with me?

Enjoy the weekend everyone! I'm attending a macaron making class tonight and I'm SUPER excited about it!

Miss Violetta

{ Cardigan: H&M // Dress: Sugarlips (c/o) // Shoes: BCBGirls // Bag: Salad // Sunglasses: Prada // Necklace: Spike the Punch }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

I'm in major love with this dress from Sugarlips, which is aptly named Miss Violetta. The floral pattern on the purple skirt is accented with metallic thread and the double bubble hem creates the most adorable peplum. I wanted to show you all the dress as it is for this post, but in the future I can't wait to style the dress as a skirt. Stay tuned!

Bloggers Do It Better: Mint + Coral

{ Blazer: Zara // Romper: Urban Outfitters (old, similar) // Shoes: BCBGirls (worn here, here and here) // Bag: Louis Vuitton // Sunglasses: H&M // Watch: ToyWatch // Jewelry: MONIKALOVE bracelet by bfrend; random ring; DIY necklace }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

When I saw that Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Challenge was mint and coral, I jumped at the opportunity to style an outfit with these two colours. I already have quite a few coral and mint items in my closet so it was just a matter of deciding what to pair with what. I ended up reaching for my favourite coral romper that I purchased last Spring and a pale sea green blazer. My nails were polished with a touch of mint and coral to play up the colour scheme a little more, and the result is a bright and cheerful outfit that reminds me of macarons (yum!).

Peppermint Patty

{ Blazer, Top & Sunglasses: H&M (old) // Jeans: Zara // Shoes: BCBGirls (worn here & here) // Scarf: Wilfred (Aritzia) // Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Watch: Gucci // Jewelry: HRH Collection Ultra Luxe necklace worn as bracelet; ring & earrings from Mexico }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

In anticipation of St. Patrick's Day tomorrow, I donned my favourite shade of green: mint. This pastel green shade is enjoying its fashion heyday as a refreshing mint hue, and for the most part, is no longer the dreaded sea foam green colour of bridesmaids dresses in the '80s. I'm personally enjoying its revival and intend to wear mint green all through Spring and Summer. If you haven't tried wearing this shade yet, this weekend is the perfect time to start! Go small with nail polish (my fave is Revlon "Jaded") or bold with an entire ensemble. Have a happy weekend and St. Patty's Day!

Pink & Grey

The first hints of Spring are starting to infuse the air and I'm really enjoying the longer, brighter days. I'm also happy to see all the Spring fashions that are filling up the stores. As much as I enjoy neon for Spring, I equally love the softness of pastels. Pink and grey is a favourite colour combination of mine and this pastel outfit is a lighter take on the neon version I last wore here.

Neon Splash

{ Blazer & Jeggings: H&M // Sweater: Zara // Scarf: Matthew Williamson for H&M // Shoes: BCBGirls // Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs // Sunglasses: Dior // Watch: Gucci // Jewelry: HRH Collection bracelet; random silver ring, BCBG rhinestone ring }

I absolutely loved neon in the '80s, and I mean LOVED. There are old photos of me showing how I completely embraced the neon trend, from my neon green leggings, neon pink slouch socks, multi-neon-coloured top, and neon orange scrunchie...all in one outfit. These days I'm taking a more restrained approach to the neon trend. I toned down this neon pink sweater from Zara (that I got on sale for $16. Score!) with neutral grey jeans and a black blazer. Adding the bright scarf provided the perfect punch of extra colour I was looking for.
