Happy February 1st! I can't believe the first month of 2013 is already behind us.  Groundhog Day is tomorrow and I'm hoping the little marmot won't see his shadow so that Spring will come early. I'm more than ready to say "goodbye" to winter and pulled out my light springtime clothes in an effort to hurry in the new season. Crossing my fingers that it'll work. Enjoy the weekend!

After the two day snow storm Vancouver had this week, followed by a day of heavy rain, I couldn't bring myself to shoot outfit photos outside. I must say it was warm and cozy shooting indoors, and it gave me the opportunity to better showcase this J.Crew polka dot Tippi sweater I recently got on sale. I can't help but buy a little something for myself while out Christmas shopping, anyone else guilty of this?

Miss Violetta

I'm in major love with this dress from Sugarlips, which is aptly named Miss Violetta. The floral pattern on the purple skirt is accented with metallic thread and the double bubble hem creates the most adorable peplum. I wanted to show you all the dress as it is for this post, but in the future I can't wait to style the dress as a skirt. Stay tuned!

Bedazzled Camouflage

There's nothing like some rhinestones to make camouflage more girly and pretty. This shirt is a great layering piece for transitioning between seasons, and the jewels on the pocket add just the right amount of bedazzled shine. I decided to add a bit more eye candy with a rhinestone necklace, because a girl can never have too much sparkle.

I absolutely love a dress with pockets. I was already sold on the cute stripes and colours on this dress but the moment I discovered the pockets, it was a done deal. I'm a pretty big fan of handmade things and three of my favourites are showcased in today's post. If you've been reading my blog from the beginning, then you already know that Spike the Punch and HRH Collection are two of my jewelry staples. My latest Etsy discovery is Libbie & Winston, who makes the cutest personalized products, like this custom iPhone case. My phone is definitely more fun when it's accessorized with my monogram and a chevron pattern, don't you think?!

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you would have seen a photo of me wearing these new floral trousers from H&M last week. They really are the best $14.95 I've spent. This print and all of its incarnations (it's availabe in a blazer, top and blouse) are slowly cropping up in the fashion blogosphere and it's easy to see why. They're such an easy and affordable way to incorporate Spring's floral trend. I decided to add my own twist and style the flower pattern with leopard print. Do you think the print mixing worked? The first hints of Spring are starting to infuse the air and I'm really enjoying the longer, brighter days. I'm also happy to see all the Spring fashions that are filling up the stores. As much as I enjoy neon for Spring, I equally love the softness of pastels. Pink and grey is a favourite colour combination of mine and this pastel outfit is a lighter take on the neon version I last wore here.

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Although this day is typically considered unlucky, Vancouver has been blessed with gorgeous sunshine this past week, making it perfect photo shoot weather! I bought this white Talula Fleetwood lace dress on sale at Aritzia during Boxing Week and have already worn it twice. I love how it can be worn right now in the winter with a heavy coat and tights, yet it will easily transition to be the perfect, light dress in the summer.

These shoes were last year's Christmas present from my husband and I adore them. I definitely had a Carrie Bradshaw moment when I unwrapped the box. I'm also in love with my Spike the Punch necklaces (if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you would have seen a preview of them), and chose to wear this smoke and silver glitter necklace as a bracelet. It has the perfect amount of sparkle and I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing both necklaces non-stop through the holidays.
