I'm currently having a love affair with achromatic outfits. I've pushed aside the rainbow of colour in my closet until Spring arrives and for now, will stick to classic black and white. A swipe of red on the lips is all the colour I need. Simplicity at its best.

The sneaker wedge trend has finally grown on me. It took about a year to really change my mind, but after I tried this pair on from Target I was hooked. They dress down an outfit just enough and are so incredibly comfortable, not to mention they're almost an exact duplicate of Isabel Marant's wedge sneakers for a lot less money! Inspired by the 1920s style in The Great Gatsby, I've become enamored with the drop waist. They're great for those who are short-waisted like myself, and the extra bit of flounce in the lowered waistline evokes a playful sophistication. These are my top 10 favourite drop waist pieces. With the Kentucky Derby happening this weekend, I got inspired by the colours of the race's official drink, the mint julep. Interestingly enough, I wore almost the exact same outfit last year, but turning my dress into a top and adding a pair of mint jeans changes the look completely.

I enjoy mixing prints (previously seen here and here), but if you're at all wary about pattern mixing, the easiest way to wear the trend is to get a piece of clothing that's already paired two prints together for you! This tank mixes florals and stripes in a foolproof way that's incredibly easy to wear. And who doesn't like effortless dressing, especially during the hot summer months? I absolutely love a dress with pockets. I was already sold on the cute stripes and colours on this dress but the moment I discovered the pockets, it was a done deal. The day these photos were taken was the first time Eleanor and I were able to catch the glorious late afternoon light. The sun was partially hidden behind the clouds so we weren't able to capture the full effect of golden hour, but we were graced with soft, beautiful light nonetheless. I'm hoping to shoot more photos at this time of day now that summer is approaching.

Stripes are such a classic wardrobe staple. They up the chic factor of almost any outfit and their nautical nature lends a sense of effortless style. I dressed up this navy and white striped bodycon dress with a blazer, high heels and a neon necklace, but can easily see myself dressing it down with a chambray shirt and gladiator sandals. The styling possibilities are really endless.
