On the Run

Summer arrived in full force this week and I'm staying cool in this cutesy romper and my go-to Panama hat. I don't wear black very often in the summer but it works when it's lightened up with natural, textured accessories and a pop of colour. How do you wear black for summer?

Peonies Please

The moment I read Monika's post about the peony farm she visited, I knew I had to go. Eleanor and I made the trip out to Flowers From A Country Garden and were immediately in flower heaven. There were buckets of peonies in all shades and the hardest part was deciding what colour to take home. We shot these photos on the farm's beautiful grounds and I love the way they turned out. I'll definitely be back in the summer to pick up some sunflowers once they're in bloom.

Fact: I have cherry blossom fever and it has now extended to my clothing in the form of this romper. The long sleeves and open back, along with the cherry blossom pattern, made this playsuit a must-have and it was perfect for my recent trip to Hawaii. April Showers

It's not very obvious in these photos but it was POURING rain when we were taking these shots outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Needless to say, it was a very quick shoot and totally worth getting rained on to capture the canopy of pink cherry blossoms as a backdrop. Oh, and I've officially ditched the tights. Bare legs until mid-October!

Art on Tights

During the fall and winter months, I wear a lot of tights to get longevity out of my summer shorts, dresses and skirts. I'm usually a basic black tights kind of gal but these printed tights from Zohara have changed my tune. The unique flower drawing on the tights adds an artistic touch, making them fashionable pieces of art you can wear. They're also 120 den, which means they're thick enough to keep my legs warm when the air is brisk, something I'll definitely be needing with this weekend's forecast of rain and more rain. Celine Me Alone

I wore this outfit to the Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake concert last week, which was seriously amazing. And now that I'm in my early 30s, comfort is key when I'm at a show. I give props to the girls who wear sky high heels all night because I just can't do it anymore! My solution is to wear flats with stylish details, along with an outfit that's equally comfortable. What's your go-to look for concerts?

This leather jacket was the one piece I had my eye on ever since H&M revealed their New Icons collection. The genuine leather, motorcycle style and zipper details meld into the perfect combination of street style cool to create a look that H&M touts as "model-off-duty." I do admire the styles of models like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Miranda Kerr, so if there's a piece that will emulate their chic off duty style, I'll take it!

If you've been reading my blog for a while, it comes as no surprise that I love a little stud detail. These boots I bought from ShoeMint are a new favourite because of the buckles and of course, the studs. On another note, getting a successful twirling photo is not as easy as I thought it would be! I'm going to need to practice and try this again next time.
