I'm linking up with Marionberry Style's Trend of the Month challenge today, which is yellow! It's the perfect shade to brighten a gray day, especially when it's colour blocked with purple (my favourite hue). Colours have such a strong effect on your mood and for me, jewelry is just as effective, especially when it's sparkly and bright.

Anjolee recently gave me the opportunity to customize a piece of jewelry from their website, which is full of beautiful pieces from diamond engagement rings, bracelets and pendants to anniversary rings and earrings. Talk about eye candy! I eventually chose this gemstone and diamond eternity ring with alternating amethysts and diamonds (in this case mine has CZ stones since it's a sample). The style is simple and classic, and I think it'd be fun to stack a bunch of them on one finger! How would you wear this ring?

Chartreuse Crush

I was super excited to see that Marionberry Style's Trend of the Month challenge for January was stripes. It's a pattern that really goes with anything, and there are quite a number of striped pieces in my closet. I decided to pair my classic black and white stripes with some camo print, and accessorized with this chartreuse scarf I scored at J. Crew during their Boxing Week sale. I've been crushing on this neon yellow colour as of late and it reminds me of Spring, which can't come soon enough!

The vibrant red, orange and yellow hued leaves are one of my favourite aspects of Fall. I also love being able to pull out my cozy sweaters to wear with tights and boots. As a style blogger who documents her outfits, I find that I'm always keeping an eye out for new locations to shoot photos. I noticed this spot when I was driving to Eleanor's, and the big "X" literally marked this place as our shoot venue for the day. You'll definitely be seeing this backdrop again in future outfit posts.

Make a Statement

The lovely folks over at Sway Chic sent this sweet dress and amazing statement necklace to me and it couldn't have made a better pairing. The denim corset-like top with the floral skirt on this dress is totally up my alley, while the choker necklace is the perfect statement piece to complete the look. I'm also linking up with Marionberry Style today for her Trend of the Month Challenge, which happens to be the statement necklace.

I enjoy mixing prints (previously seen here and here), but if you're at all wary about pattern mixing, the easiest way to wear the trend is to get a piece of clothing that's already paired two prints together for you! This tank mixes florals and stripes in a foolproof way that's incredibly easy to wear. And who doesn't like effortless dressing, especially during the hot summer months? The last time I wore this dress and these sandals was back in January for a Winter White look. I've been waiting for warmer weather to arrive so that I could put together a Summer version of this outfit with bright colours and bare legs. I love it when items in my closet can transition between seasons!
