Happy Chinese New Year! I'm donning my custom eShakti trench in lucky garnet red to ring in the Year of the Horse. I don't own much red clothing but for Chinese New Year, I always make it a point to wear whatever pieces I have in that colour to bring good luck my way. Happy Weekend and Lunar New Year to all who celebrate!

Don't let the palm trees and bare legs fool you - I'm very much still in Vancouver, though this is probably the last time I can get away with not wearing tights with my dresses. Also, today's the last day to enter my giveaway for an Inner Fire infinity scarf! Entries close at 11:59pm PST. Good luck and happy weekend!

Turquoise Tribe

{ Silk Blouse (old) & Shorts: Zara // Sandals: Sam Edelman "Trina" // Bag: Coach // Sunglasses: H&M // Bracelet: Swarovski }
I've been having a love affair with turquoise as of late and when I saw these tribal print shorts in my latest colour obsession, I had to scoop them up. I wore this outfit when I was in Portland over the weekend and it was perfect for the summer-like temperatures that graced the City of Roses. I'm really hoping this weather sticks around now that summer is right around the corner because I am ready for shorts and sandals season!

Hey, Sailor!

The nautical trend is a classic look that's always fresh and in style. You can't go wrong with sailor stripes and crisp shades of red, blue, black and white. This inspiration board has me imagining a summer day lounging on a boat with golden rays of sunshine and the sparkling cerulean sea. Are you ready to sail away?

PS: if you're smitten with the adorable iPANEMA flip flops, be sure to visit the blog next week...I just might be giving away a similar pair ;)

Blocking Brights

{ Blouse: T. Babaton "Tinsley" via Aritzia // Pants: H&M (old, similar here) // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman // Bag: Coach (old) // Sunglasses: House of Harlow "Chelsea" // Jewelry: bfrend Flora bracelet; Social Experiment ring }

Over the four-day Easter long weekend, we were blessed with nothing but gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. This kind of weather always makes me want to dress in vibrant colours and this outfit is proof of that. Don't be afraid to colour block your brights from head to toe! Give it a try and I'll bet you'll be smiling as brightly as Little Miss Sunshine.

Spring Fever

Today I'm sharing a few things I'm currently craving for Spring. Lots of light and bright colours, leopard print and a cute umbrella, because let's face it: I live in Vancouver and it rains A LOT here! Click on the images to get more info. Happy Thursday!

Fashionably Fixated on...

Maybe it's the gloomy January blues, but lately I've been fixated on colourful bags. I have a lot of neutral handbags in go-with-everything shades of black, white, and beige, which I think every girl needs in her purse repertoire. However, on those days when you just want to add a pop of colour, these candy-hued bags would make the perfect bright accessory, and these designers know how to do colour well. Which one's your favourite?

1) Coach Legacy Leather Penny Shoulder Purse in fuchsia $198.00 USD
2) Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in mint $195.00 USD
3) 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel in aubergine $895.00 USD
4) Balenciaga Giant 12 City Tote in dark turquoise $1,895.00 USD
5) Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Leather Satchel in purple rain $1,695.00 USD

Ladylike

{ Blazer: Zara // Top & Necklace: H&M // Skirt: Forever 21 // Sandals: Cole Haan // Bag: Coach // Sunglasses: Karen Walker }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

Feeling ladylike in a tweed blazer, bandage skirt and top knot. If this outfit looks familiar, it's because it was put together for my Closet Confessions feature and I finally had the chance to take it out for a spin. It's always great to have an outfit you styled in your head work well for real life wear.

Bright White

{ Blazer: Zara // Dress: Talula Fleetwood (from Aritzia) // Sandals: Cole Haan (old) // Bag: Coach (old) // Sunglasses: Prada // Necklace: eBay purchase // Bracelets: H&M and MONIKALOVE by bfrend // Rings: JewelMint Blanc Bomb and vintage }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

The last time I wore this dress and these sandals was back in January for a Winter White look. I've been waiting for warmer weather to arrive so that I could put together a Summer version of this outfit with bright colours and bare legs. I love it when items in my closet can transition between seasons!

I'm also linking up this post to Marionberry Style's Trend of the Month Challenge for June, which is colourful blazers. I had so much fun doing Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better Challenge that I thought, hey, why not do another one?!

Peter Pan Meets Mint

{ Top: Charlotte Russe // Crochet Shorts: OASAP // Shoes: Zara // Clutch: Coach // Sunglasses: Prada // Headband: Goody // Jewelry: Christina M. Boutique Camilla Wrap Bracelet (c/o);  JewelMint Blanc Bomb ring // Watch: Michael Kors }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

When I saw this mint blouse with a Peter Pan collar and scalloped hem at Charlotte Russe, I was smitten. I previously wore mint with other pastels (seen here and here) but because of the black Peter Pan collar, I decided to wear black as the only accent colour and it really makes the mint pop. You may also recognize the Camilla wrap bracelet by Christina M. Boutique that I'm wearing, which I gave away on my blog back in April. It's such a fun, girly piece, like all the jewelry in the collection. Be sure to check out Christina M. Boutique's Etsy shop for more pretty baubles! Have a great weekend!

Block Party

{ Blazer: H&M (last seen here) // Tank: Zara (last seen here) // Jeans & Belt: Old Navy // Shoes: Christian Louboutin (last seen here) // Sunglasses: Coach // Bag: Chloe //
Watch: Michael Kors // Necklaces: H&M and Front & Co. }

Colour blocking was big in 2011 and the trend is still going strong this year. I never thought I'd be one to wear two bright colours together but it just seems to work when it's balanced with black and a neutral leopard belt. As the weather improves, I know I'll be turning to the bright hues in my wardrobe to colour block not only neons, but pastels too. Is this a trend you'll be trying this Spring? Let me know in the comments! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

{ Blazer: H&M (last seen here) // Top: Zara // Silk Shorts & Belt: Wilfred (Aritzia) // Booties: Zara (last seen here) // Bag: Coach (vintage) // Sunglasses: Tory Burch //
Ring: YSL Arty Oval // Watch: Michael Kors }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

The clothes I'm wearing in this outfit are all from last season, while the Coach bag was an old piece I acquired from my bestie. The ring is something that has been on my wish list for a while and I borrowed it from Eleanor, who is just as passionate about fashion as I am. We grew up wearing a lot of the same clothes (we still do to this day) and I actually borrow a lot of her accessories for our shoots. When she tagged me on Instagram about her new YSL Arty Oval ring, I knew I had to borrow it for an outfit post. The lapis blue stone is stunningly vibrant and has beautiful flecks of gold scattered throughout. Definitely in love.

Raincouver

{ Jacket: 2xpose // Top: Forever 21 (old) // Trousers: H&M (buy here) // Boots: Hunter // Clutch: Coach // Jewelry: HRH Collection Ultra Luxe necklace and random ring }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

My decision to start a style blog in the winter here in Vancouver has made shooting and dressing for outfit photos a bit of a challenge. I've forsaken the warmth of a coat to showcase my outfit and braved chilling arctic air in the snow. Eleanor's said to me many times on our shoots to "Try not to look so cold!" At this time of the year, it's usually warmest when it's raining, which happens a lot here in "Raincouver." Luckily, I've scouted a location to shoot that will keep us dry, and there's nothing like a pair of Hunter rain boots to make you feel invincible in the rain.

Casual Friday

{ Leather Jacket: Mackage // Sweater: H&M // Tank Top: Aritzia // Jeans: Levi's // Shoes: Converse // Scarf: Alexander McQueen // Clutch: Coach // Sunglasses: Versace // Ring: David Yurman }

{ Photographed by Eleanor Chow }

I have to admit that this is one of the most comfortable outfits I've styled for this blog. You really can't beat a pair of Converse kicks and worn-in boyfriend jeans; it's perfect weekend wear. Happy Friday!
